Rayne Ames and God's Gift is the fifteenth episode of the Mashle anime.
Synopsis[]
Margarette Macaron and Rayne Ames fight in the woods. Ultimately, Rayne wins, revealing himself to have a third mark to Margarette Macaron and the audience. Headmaster Wahlberg reveals the same to a member of council staff. The start of the second stage of the divine visionary selection exam begins.
The task is to find a key hidden somewhere in the stage and escape. The key is hidden inside a body part of a creature, which is intended to be popped using magic. Candidates also will be pursued by multiple monsters at all times
Summary[]
The episode begins by telling us that Margarette Macaron is the current perfect of Orca dorm, having won a magic tournament for middle schoolers (13-15) at the age of 9.
Margarette Macaron tells Rayne Ames that the divine Visionary position is merely a superficial title, and since he had sought it instead of strength of magic, they are curious to see which of them is stronger. They fight.
Meanwhile, Mash and his friends play a board game at Mash's father's house. After Mash loses the game, Finn has a flashback to when they arrived at the house, of a brief discussion he had with Mash's father, who expressed his appreciation of Mash's friends.
The scene cuts back to the fight, with Rayne Ames using the attack Partisan and Margarette Macaron fighting back with Shiver Sounds and traps him with Howling Sounds. There is a brief cutaway to a discussion about the fight between the Headmaster and a member of the council staff about the number of marks on a person's face. He reveals that Rayne Ames is the youngest person in recorded history to acquire a third mark. This is revealed on his face on the battlefield as well.
Back inside the house, Mash leaves while his friends stay inside. He goes to eat a cream puff when he sees the fight. Rayne Ames discovers that the fight was orchestrated by Orter Mádl. Rayne verbally defends Mash and he overhears. Margarette Macaron casts Sounds Orchestra, and Rayne Ames defends with Summon Ares and Black Partisan. Margarette Macaron defends with Sounds Shield but is ultimately defeated. Rayne's third mark goes back to being hidden and Mash thanks Rayne Ames. Rayne encourages Mash to succeed in his quest to become a Divine Visionary.
Margarette Macaron retreats with Tron and Cello Morceau, thinking to themself that they could have fought better, but prioritized the safety of their two companions.
Back at the school, each member of the group, prepares in their own way. Finn panics and refuses Mash's decision to split the earned gold coins equally. Lance thinks of his sister. Dot can't sleep and has too much energy. Mash and his father have a discussion about the discovery of Mash's lack of magic. His father wishes him safety.
